a poem about men

The relationship is sinking
And the captain is nowhere to be found

Lost at sea
Waves crashing the only sound

Women and children forced to tiny boats
Only enough life vests for them

We prioritize mothers and babies
But what happens to the men

Men are meant to lead
But never taught to grow

Their fears they’ll never show
It leaves the rest of us stranded

All because men are left empty-handed
What happens to the men who aren’t taught to face the hardships

We lose them to the ocean
Drowning with no devotion

The price of men we can no longer afford
How many times do I have to say it?

Man overboard
